Production Log 9

This week me and my group were coming to the end of finishing our music video. Through out the week we was finishing up the last pieces to the puzzle on our music video we was making sure there was no gaps throughout the whole of it and we made sure the lip synching was all on point. On Wednesday we finally finished our music video. On Thursday due to do to year 11 have a media trip to the BBC no lesson took place. On Friday we started to learn about the next unit which is called unit 1 codes of practise and regulation and we was learning about regulation and constraints we was given a guardian article, we had to pick out certain things that the regulators take control. The regulators set the rules and the rules that the music video can't break are bad language, sexuality, humans being treated like animals and animal cruelty. So the things that the viewer might find uncomfortable.

So far I'm up to date with all the media course work.

This week I didn't have any problems with the media coursework as we didn't have to do much this week. From Monday to Wednesday we was editing and on Friday we started unit 1 and within those 4 days I didn't have any problems.

We didn't have any problems to fix because there was no problems in the first place.

Next week we will continue doing the evaluation on our music video and for the next few weeks that is what I'll be doing.

Production log 8

Throughout the week me and my group continued to edit it was a very long process but were close to finishing the editing for the music video. This week me and my group had to re film a few other scenes to make the music video look more exciting when it cuts to the beat. So we can get a better grade when it gets assessed by the marker. On Thursday we said behind for about another 30 minutes after lesson had ended to continue editing and it went well even though we got stuck we still managed to do it. We also imported new footage on Thursday from the pieces of the music video in the cage which was a good location to choose because we were going for a urban look. 

At the moment even though it's taking a while were not falling behind with the coursework we still on track.

The problems we came across re filming because we didn't know we was going to have to re film again. A part from that no other problems occurred this week.

We solved this problem by re filming it wasn't so bad in the end because when we was putting the filming onto final cut express it looked good because it made the music video look more eye catching which is good because the song is quite fast paced so it's good because almost every cut is different. Even though it's long in a sense I'm kind of enjoying the editing because I like the way it's slowly coming together. 

Next week we should be wrapping up the music video and ready to export a well presented and thought out music video. 

Post production week 7

This week me and my group continued editing for our music video. We have gotten quite far last week we was on the first chores now were on the the third verse were taking in slow and steady to make sure every cut is accurate because I want to make sure that the music video is excellent. We also had to re film some scene because we felt that the scene could look better. The places we re filmed were Ilford at the car park roof and then another scene on me rapping to the camera on the way to blueprint youth, the other place was at the Seven Kings skate park and the reason why we chose to re film those places was because it looked okay but we knew we could do better. We also make sure that the cutting to the beat process was as accurate as possible which we've been doing well so far.

The minor problem I faced was filming in school because I didn't properly plan what I filming. I knew I was re filming some scenes in the gym and some other scenes in the music studio. Then Leo suggested we filmed in the sixth form block on the stairs which I found a surprise because obviously we didn't plan it. So in future we will organise ourselves and bit more but apart from that there was no other problems that I faced.

I over came this minor problem by filming in the places that we were supposed to film in.

Next week we will continue editing and hopefully finish soon.

Post Production log week 6

This week me and my group had a few shots to finish off so on Monday. We had to go back to Ilford to go and film a few more shots such as the car park intro and the 4th verse. Also the exchange intro part as well then we had to go into the music studio and film the third verse . We started importing the music video scenes on Wednesday. We have started to put the scenes in chronological order and we are making sure that it's cutting to the beat be cutting the scene on a certain point of the song so it looks structured.

The week has gone well because were not falling behind with the work. So I'm feeling confident with my group that this music will go well.

The problems that I countered this week is the fact that we didn't stick to the script as much as we should of. So now were editing some of the scenes aren't in the right place so there's more than a chance that we had to re film some of he scenes. To make sure that there in the right places for the music video. With that being said it might slightly dragged us back a little but I strive for perfection so I will be more than comfortable to go back a quickly re shoot scenes.

I will solve this problem by re shooting the scenes that need re film and then import the new scenes onto final cut express and I will also make sure the new scenes are cutting to the beat. I will also make sure that all the scenes that are being filmed are filmed over the weekend so I don't fall too far behind.

My plans for the next week will be to re film the scenes that need to be filmed and continue to edit the music video.

Post production week 5

This week me and my group have been filming and I have been filming. My group have been filming in various locations such as Ilford, the seven kings skate park and Chadwell heath park and the music studio we close to finishing the music video. We just need to film film in Ilford again because I missed one scene and the Chadwell heath park again because we need to redo another shot but apart from that we've covered all the scene that needed to be taken. So far it's been going well because the things we've got done I'm feeling quite confident that this music video will go well when it gets edited. With that being said I do have doubts because later into the filming that I realised that I was supposed to play the song while saying the lyrics so I had to go and re film some of the locations.

At the moment I am currently on track with my work.

This week the problems that I had to solve was that the fact the some of the places I thought that were public were actually private. Such as the car park, the behind of Keith Moore theatre and the Police Station which I was un informed about I was stopped by the police for recording the police station without permission before hand but I know now to ask for permission if it's need.

I resolved these problems by asking for permission every time I went into the car park to film on the highest level. Apart from that no other problems occurred after that. I solve the police station issue be explaining the 21 questions they gave me.

Next week we will be editing the footage that we have filmed hopefully it goes well.

Post production week 4

This week Me and my group had to go back and re do the shooting script because there was something that was missing so me and my group had to do and re do the script we also had to do the production schedule which was a bit stressful because I finished the shooting script quite late so we rushed the production schedule a little but we had to change and then re arrange it but eventually we got it done. We also done the waiver cast I had to do it again because I had left the the old waiver cast sheet at home. This week I also did the permission which was okay because most of the locations I chose were public so I didn't see much of a problem doing that, we also did the risk assessments and I had to pick out the risks for the locations we chose.

At this very moment I feel like I'm on track with all my work because I like to stay on track I hate feeling like I'm failing behind so I try to stay on track which is what I'm doing now. So overall I'm not falling behind in this project.

The problems I faced was getting everything finished on the deadline day so I was under pressure because I had done certain posts but some of the posts weren't finished such as the permission to film and waiver sheet but besides that everything was finished.

I overcame this problem by focusing on the unfinished blogs because if I didn't then I wouldn't be able to start filming for my music video.

Next week I will be filming my music video and hopefully be the time the half term is finished the music video will be finished as well.

Permission to film

Most of the locations I've chosen are public such as the outside school, Ilford car park, Ilford exchange shopping centre, Christe gardens, Ilford car park, Bengeo Gardens, Youth Club, ilford ally and those reasons are because those places are public so it doesn't require me to ask permission if I can use theses locations so in a sense they will be slightly easier to access than the ones that require permission. Although there are three locations that did require permission to film one of the locations was the conference room and that will be filmed in period 5-6 and I was given permission to use that room. Another location was the gym and I was given permission to use the gym and that will also be filmed in period 5-6. The last location I had to ask permission to film was the music studio and I was given permission to film in that location and this will be filmed in our lunch break. Also I have asked my mum if I can use my house for me to film and I was given permission if I could film.

We are going to be using the following locations because we thought that they would give us more of an effect then any other locations. They are suitable because they are closer then the locations we were gonna use before which were all in London where you have people walking around non stop.I think that practically the locations such as
alley ways will be very useful for our music video where we could have some one being robbed. I think the benefits of us filming in these locations are not having to travel up to London just to film a few shots and that its not as busy in the streets like it is up London.
The reason we chose to film in a school is because the places in the school like classrooms are hard to get access to.

The skate park can been used for different things for the music video like doing the rap battle. The different locations we will be using like the park and the alley way will also be used when its at night time because that will give it a better effect for the rapping into the camera and when we have the drug dealing and the robbery.When we do most of the scenes we will be doing it when its dark.

Production Log Week 3

This week we have been continuing the shooting script I feel like me, Leo and Zahir are finished with the shooting script. We spent a lot of time chopping and changing the script with probably wasted time but we got it finished in the end. This week we also done the production schedule which didn't take long although I had to keep re arranging it.On thursday the class went on a trip to the BBFC and the BBC. I feel this gave my a more in depth perspective of what I want to do with my music video because on that trip I understood the age restrictions and so on. At the BBC I learned that everything is planned I also leant a few other things.At the moment I on track but there are times where I feel like I'm going to fall behind due to the pace of work.The problem I encountered was finishing the shooting script really late so thats why I feel like I'm falling behind and due to that were starting everything else late. Also I need to ask for permission to film in the school conference room and also I need to ask for permission to use the school gym.The way I over came this problem was be finishing the shooting script on saturday and also the job roles and I will ask for permission to use the conference room and the school gym on Monday and hopefully be able to to use it for my music video.My plans for the following week is to hopefully start filming so that my group gets a head start.

Job & Responsibilities

Director & Production Manager 

The job role that I've chosen is the the director and the production because I feel I'm the most organised out of the group and also I know what it's going to look like, also I've had previous experiences in year 10 and year 11. So it's up to me to show my responsibility and creativity to reach the highest grade that I can get. The responsibilities I will have is to get everyone there on time and to also make sure that everyone shows up so that we can film. Also to make sure that we get everything in the same location all done it that day and if we work hard we should be able to complete it within the three weeks.










Camera Operator 

Zahir has been chosen to the camera operator as he is experienced with cameras and I know he'll do well as a camera operator. I've also chosen Zahir is because I trust that he'll do well with the job role that he chose. The responsibilities that Zahir will have is to make sure he brings the equipment and to also follow the shooting script angles to make the music video look unique. Because if he uses the different shot angles it's make the music video also look exciting.







Editor

Leo has been chosen to be the editor as he's very technical with computer and I know he will do well with editing the music video. The job role that Leo has is to make sure that every cut that he does is precisely done so that it looks professional. If Leo's focused then I believe he'll do well with this job role.

Post production Week 2

On Monday we had to do the planning sheet again because it didn't make sense and from Monday to Thursday we couldn't come up with anything. Then on Thursday this week we had to start again for the third time due to lack of structure of the music video story so our group had to really think about our music video because the one before this one wasn't very clear to understand because we made it too complex such as flashbacks and too many locations. plus some of the locations were too far. That being said the third time we did it was the best time because this time it was more structured because we actually knew what was going to be in the music video every step of the way. Then throughout the whole week me and my group have been creating the shooting script I contributed it by doing some of it at home and some at the home and some at school.

In this period in time I am staying on top of my work because I'm putting in a lot of work because I don't want to fall behind.

The only problem I came across was our group not even starting the script until Thursday because we were still on planning part of the music video but other than that there were no problems.

We over came this problem by putting in extra work outside of school at the library then at home as well because we were falling behind in class so we decide to catch up with the class.

In the following weeks I hope to finish the shooting script and hope to have it all colour coordinated so it looks structure as well and colourful.

Production Log Week 1

Week 1: This week I contributed sessions that included myself which was the pitch that involved talking about your music video idea  Q & A. I felt slightly nervous at the beginning then as I explained my idea I didn't feel so nervous when it got to the Q&A that's where I lack confidence with my idea because I didn't make it as clear as it could've been. After that we put our selfs into group and I'm in a group with Zahir and Leo then we had to come up with a realistic name for ourselves that name was called Limitless and the reason why I chose that name I wanted our passion to be limitless. After that we made a rationale and in that rationale we discuss why we chose each other I chose Leo because of his experience with the special effects and I chose Zahir because he's experienced with cameras. 

At the moment I am currently staying on top of my work due to doing extra work outside school.

I did encounter some problems one was my pitch the reason was because my music video wasn't the clearest idea. Another problem although it was a minor was the rational because our group didn't completely know what we was going to talk about but we managed to get there in the end. Another problem was planning the music video because my pitch wasn't clear I struggled with making my idea in the clearest way for people to understand. 


I over came the rational problem by finally figuring out was I was going to say. I over came the planning by continuing the table on Saturday at the library with Leo Zahir couldn't make it due to family issues. Then I got permission to get the link from Mr Phillipson to start again so when I got home I printed out another copy and re write the whole thing again.

What I'm plaining to do next week is my shooting script and my schedule.

The pitch

An area where I think I could give more detail on would have to be the conventions. I think I could of given more detail to how I was going to be creative how I was going to use them. 

Another area where I feel I could put more detail in would have to my idea. I chose my idea because I explained very briefly how I was going to be creative. Not so much on how I was going to be realistic. 

Visual styles is another area where I could've given more detail in as I don't think I explained enough why I actulley chose those styles. 

I feel like I could of explained the Target Audience a bit better because I didn't explain why it was going to appeal to this specific age or why it was going to be both genders etc... so thats why I feel I could've explained it a bit better.

I feel I could gone more in depth with the location area because I explained why I was going to use them to make the video look unique.

I feel that a strength that my audience gathered was when I answered the reason why I was using varied camera language. 

I was trying to make it look diverse and unique and make it look excited, Also were I was talking about the colour schemes and how white signifies purity and the black signifies the darkness. 

I feel that a flaw that my audience saw was the fact that I didn't have a solid idea of how the music video is going to look like. 

Another flaw was how I was going to use amplifying in my music video as well I think they saw that I didn't put enough thought into the conventions that I had actulley chosen. 

Also I the audience spotted that I didn't really know how I was going to make it look like a completely different music video. 

One where the audience for sure pick out a weakness was on the artist section because I didn't know who was going to be in my music video as the actor and I feel that really a downfall for me because I should have know who my actor was going to be. So that being show it didn't look like my music video idea was very practical.  

Another thing was the structure of my music video I don't think I went in depth with my actual story.

The things I would change would have to be a strong solid idea and also I would need to add more creativity to my idea also I will explain my conventions in the actual music video. I will also make my music video look as creative as possible. I will the cutting to the beat is precise and also I will make sure the varied camera angles are diverse as well.

The lyrics form this song shows that the targets audience age is aimed at young people i.e. teenagers and also adults. The gender is aimed at both genders. The interest will relate to the audience from the lyrics and the locations. The locations are going to be very diverse because it's going to be set in different parts of london.

Analysing The Music
The song is a song that introduces themselves to the audience and this is from the lyrics that come off as rugged. The instrumental itself is structured very nicely because there the soft piano keys over the hard hitting snare and bass drum. This song is inspirational because he's inspiring people in a sense of if I've made it then you can to.

Analysing The Tempo
The tempo of the song is 90 beats per minute (BPM) this shows the genre of music is Hip-Hop because most Hip-Hop songs are 90 Beats Per Minute so the speed of the song isn't going to very fast or very slow it's roughly going to be medium speed. The Beat pattern of this song is 4 beats on a bar. Also the length of the song is 4:42 seconds long.

I will amplify my music video and I chose this technique because I really feel like I can experiment and reach the highest level I can possibly aim for where as the two other techniques I might find it a bit more challenging. I will visually communicate with this music video by embracing the music from the music video.
